This recipe is originally for 1 servings. How many are you cooking for today?
- 6 ozs fresh mackerel fillet
- 1 1/2 cups Brussels sprouts, halved
- 1 oz walnuts, coarsely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, sliced
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
Preheat a heavy skillet until hot. Place mackerel skin-side down and sear 4–5 minutes until skin is crisp and fish is cooked through; finish 1–2 minutes skin-side up as needed.
In another skillet, cook halved Brussels sprouts cut-side down over medium-high heat, letting them char for 5–7 minutes, add garlic near the end and toss with chopped walnuts and lemon juice.
Serve mackerel alongside the Brussels sprouts and sprinkle extra walnuts on top.
